How long does it take to make my model?
Each model is made to order for you and is ready to ship in 7-10 business days.
Shipping time after production
Will my model be made exactly like the preview?
Yes. Your model is made exactly as you configured it in the preview: same area, same size, same color scheme, same details. The map data is saved at the time of purchase, so later changes to the map do not affect your model. Good to know: some features of the finished model, like the fine surface of the material, cannot be fully shown in the digital preview.
What materials is my model made from?
Your model is made from plant-based PLA, which is industrially compostable. Each model is then finished and inspected by hand before it ships. The frame is made of wood.
How are EDITION W and Lichtbild related?
Lichtbild is our sister brand in Germany. Both brands are run by the same family team, and every EDITION W model is designed in Germany. EDITION W brings these city models to Australia and Singapore, with prices in your currency and express shipping. The places and reviews marked with * on this page come from Lichtbild customers.
Can I order any place in the world?
Yes. We can create any place worldwide, from major cities to small towns, home-town villages and favorite spots. Simply select your place on the map and check if you like the preview. Where few buildings have been mapped yet, the preview shows you exactly what your model will contain.
What scale are the models?
Our city models have a scale of approximately 1:5,500. For every model size and any location worldwide, you can zoom in up to 2x. This lets you focus on a smaller area, making buildings appear larger.
What if I am not happy with my model?
Your satisfaction is our top priority. Contact us and we will find a solution. Quality issues and shipping damage are, of course, covered by us.
Where does the data for the models come from, and how up to date is it?
The buildings in your model come from OpenStreetMap, the open world map made by a global community. The shape of the land comes from open elevation data. We would like to thank the OpenStreetMap contributors and the OpenStreetMap Foundation.
Updates may take a little longer to appear in newly developed areas, so always check the preview. Your model is made from the data available when you place your order, even if the sources change afterward.
